I think this says a lot about the state of hollywood fight choreography. It is far more important to them that this is Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise throwing some punches than the fact that this scene looks boring and awful.

Now this is ignoring some stuff like stepguard and 2G but these aren't huge barriers for new players. Once you get to a point where you need to add these in you are already pretty deep into the game.

Attacks are for the most part very simple. Direction + attack covers the vast majority or all of your movelist.

Combos are generally a couple strikes, nothing too crazy but damage is high.

Maybe has the most accessible movement in a fighting game of all time?

Drop people into any 3d game, whether it is Tekken or VF or whatever feels like you are wearing weights until you figure it out.

SC2 has fast movement as the default setting and this is probably why casuals like it so much.
