What a fantastic half time show

RESULT: Democrat Chasity Martinez wins a special election for a legislative seat in Louisiana, 62% to 38%.

This was a district that Trump carried by 13% last year, so a big overperformance by Dems, but the seat was already Dem-held.

Rep.-elect Chasity Verret Martinez just defended a Louisiana House seat in +13 Trump district. The GOP was aiming for their first flip since 2024, but couldn’t get it done. Dems have now flipped 26 seats since Trump’s election, while Republicans have flipped none.

For obvious reasons, this district presented Republicans with their best shot at a flip since Trump’s return. Looks like they are falling well short.

This is actually a hilarious trap and the orange boy just sort of wandered right into it.
