05.04.2025 13:57 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 01/ Here's my take on what's happening with DOGE.
I've got fed experience through contracting with Health & Human Safety, Head Start, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and DOD. I get brought in when people need to get shit done. Other people here have way more experience than me.
Austin single-stair update: we have a clean five-story legalization, all the poison pills have been taken out! services.austintexas.gov/edims/docume...
We will be working hard to get this to six stories, but take a look at this from the public engagement summary. That's you! That's us! We did that!
Gather round kids and let me tell you a story about a real technology ban...

Prices spiked to near the max for 5 minutes, 4,300 megawatts of storage surged onto the grid (and demand went down ~2,000 MW) & things went back to normal. (h/t @gridstatus.io

Seeing βP17β labeled on Republic Tower made me wonderβ¦ whatβs the highest parking spot in Austin? With βparking podiumsβ all over the place, surely thereβs somewhere you can drive even more than 16 ramps to park your car?
17.12.2024 16:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0HEB appreciation post: my dad withdrew $100 from an HEB atm, and left it in there. Next time he went back to the store, he asked about it.
A customer had turned it in, and they had held onto it for someone to claim it.
This is the sort of thing that only happens in Japan and, apparently, HEB.

22.11.2024 23:47 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Anecdotally, I think boomers might be a surprisingly big market for this. E.g. my stepdad came to me for a recommendation because his friends had convinced him it was unsafe to use the internet without one.

I assume your point is that normal-ass people in NYC donβt drive?

It goes to show how much we use βwrites coherentlyβ as a proxy when evaluating level of intelligence. This has been true long before LLMs: bullshitters who wrote well got more respect than people who wrote truth, but poorly constructed.
22.08.2023 14:20 β π 22 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0I proposed a SXSW panel on social applications of AI and LLMs. We'll talk about how we make these models accessible at both Wavelength and Logictry, and potentially a few other companies whose representatives might join the panel.
