OK! Everything's in place. Now, it's all refinements on what's been put down.
Rock faces, all the landscape trees and the water all need enriching and clarification. Sometimes expressive brushwork, sometimes tight details. All keeping the light in mind.
Anyway, I'm glad it's getting there.

Mixed media drawing of Trinity Street, Cambridge with the railings of All Saints' Garden on the left and scattered bicycles propped around haphazardly as is usually the case.
Mixed media drawing of St John's Street Cambridge. This one is not large and is on a sheet of thin card primed with gesso. It has touches of oil pastel with gouache rubbed into the surface plus acrylic ink applied with a dip pen (including white ink).

I avoid entering contests, but a couple of non wildlife shots I particularly love I thought, ah, go for it. Made it to the nominated level, which allows people to vote for their favourites. So your vote is the only thing between me and fame and fortune LOL

A large black and white painting showing a child with a white dove. Behind the child are destroyed buildings. In the foreground lies a row of shrouded figures. The piece conveys grief, innocence, and the human cost of war.
“Truth” (96 x 72 in. Acrylic on canvas) painted for the children of Gaza. A moment of witness, grief, and love.

Theseus and the Minotaur on the labyrinth. I think I saw this image many years ago in a book of Greek myths for children. The Minotaur is a giant black shadow, and Theseus is small and alarmed — but he does have a sword

This masterpiece by the great artist Steve Huston looks like a painting in water, capable of suspending his subjects in space and time, which thrill with vivid moments of figurative dynamism and give the observer the sensation of being able to literally swim in his brush strokes full of life...
