Happy LGBTQ+ Pride! Let’s champion all LGBTQ+ people including people with HIV. They are also part of the family and we must help to reduce the stigma that still exists for people with HIV.

The legal (& let’s be honest, psychiatric) systems are still learning about how trauma impacts individual behavior & scales up to influence trends in society. Valuing the experience of survivors is just and I hope our legal & psychiatric systems eventually catch up to ppl’s lived experiences.

Yes! I greatly appreciated Dicovery giving us new aspirations and technology. The show would have greatly benefitted from 22-episode seasons because it’s clear they had a lot of ideas that deserved more time to marinate.

I know! We are truly being spoiled and I am here for it.

Discovery is the boldest Star Trek, the most experimental, and the most willing to challenge preconceived notions of what Star Trek can be. The storylines, in my opinion, could be hit or miss but I admire its willingness to push the boundaries of Trek.

It should have read “The kids on Prodigy…and the show respected their feelings…Oops! Where is the edit option?

I love that Star Trek never talks down to their audience, even kids, but recognizes the complexity of their emotions and thoughts. The kids on Prodigy felt like real teenagers and respected their feelings, fears, and, yes, traumas. It is the best of new Trek in my humble opinion.

I also love Star Trek. Deep Space Nine is my favorite Trek series and Sisko is my captain. But I love them all! Star Trek Picard delivered one of the best seasons of Trek ever, and finally gave Beverly her due. Live long and prosper.

Yep, and in a working paper, my coauthor Sara Angevine and I find that LGB Congress Members sponsor more bills on behalf of trans folks than their straight counterparts.

Hi! I am excited to be on this platform. My name is Matt, and I am a political scientist who studies legislative politics and representation for groups that do not offer a direct electoral reward. I have a strong normative commitment to political representation for all minoritized groups.

My co-author Sara Sadhwani and I find that legislators respond less to undocumented constituents than they do citizen constituents. Our paper, ¿ Quién Importa? State Legislators and Their Responsiveness to Undocumented Immigrants, was published in Politics Research Quarterly in fall 2022.
