Gliophorus psittacinus, the parrot mushroom, gets its name primarily from its potential to have a multitude of vibrant colors, though its primary pallette is green and yellow, like this one's. Its deep-yellow stipe bends slightly out of the ground, which is made up of decaying maple tree leaves. Its cap is a perfect little cone, which is dark green on the back side and tip, where the front of it that's facing the camera is more light yellow-green.

I love the weird and wild versions of parrot mushrooms I've found, but I will never get tired of finding these near-perfect specimens of by-the-book Gliophorus psittacinus. Coming across a mushroom like this is like finding a shining emerald in the forest ✨️💎 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 📷 🍄
