Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.

This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

We need new leaders in the Senate.

Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

NEW: It appears Senate Dems have enough votes for cloture with Jacky Rosen flipping to a yes vote. Rand Paul voted no. Kaine, Rosen, Fetterman, Shaheen, Hassen, King, Durbin, Cortez-Masto are the dems yes votes.

I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

If he'd had to rely on the ACA like regular people when he had his stroke instead of his government insurance his opinion on healthcare premiums would change drastically. Assuming he'd survive the stroke and could pay his medical bill.

Dear Democrats:

Until you get NEW leadership, I will not be donating to you.

DON'T ASK for support, when, after so much sacrifice, you FAILED to stand strong. You screwed us & are now complicit!
