16.02.2026 23:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Excellent sleuthing to find that. The double API call to check file existence and then get its attributes is unfortunately a pretty common anti-pattern in code I've seen.

16.02.2026 23:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0ICE treats immigrants (and sometimes citizens) the way Black citizens have been treated by some police far longer. ICE didn't invent racism or brutality, just spread it wider.

16.02.2026 13:02 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Photo of an orange cat standing next to his food dish and bin. The cat is toward the left side of the image, looking into the camera which is slightly above his eyeline height. The food dish then the bin then part of a cat bed fill the rest of the image to the right. The cat's full face and head are visible, as are the front 3/4 of his body, though the front paws are out of frame. He looks a little sad, but at the time the photo was taken he was just wondering when I would put down that strange object and dish out his breakfast! :)
We adopted Hagrid several years ago from a family that had a large dog, of which he was afraid. (We have felines only.) Somehow, Hagrid never learned to play -- a vital activity for cats' hunting instincts.
Today, I coaxed him to play with a dangle toy for the first time ever. I am *so delighted*!
This is what true manhood looks like. Not some macho testosterone-pumped bullshit. True manhood is standing by your soulmate and partner when they need you, treating them with respect, dignity, and equality, and stepping up to do what you know is right.

Lying to suspects at interrogations is legal in the USA, but it shouldn't be, because it's used to coerce innocent people to false confessions.
Same for this ICE nonsense. Tactics like that should be reserved for extremely dangerous suspects, and even then, a judicial warrant should be required.
For context:
10.02.2026 04:32 โ ๐ 11289 ๐ 3289 ๐ฌ 195 ๐ 98Just be grateful ICE is there to protect you from immigrants! Okay, so they kill a few people, injure others, and detain children incognito without judicial oversight, but at least the city is now safe from...ummmm...international restaurants, I suppose? /s
That agency cannot be fixed. Defund. NOW.
To recap: Jack-booted storm troopers invaded a city where people had no particular reason to be afraid, made everyone afraid and angry, and are slinking away before people tar and feather their bosses for sending such incompetent, violent thugs.
So...Mission Accomplished, I guess? Are we great yet?
That looks like the Washington DC Mall after Mango Mussolini "improves" it in his own special way.
13.02.2026 06:42 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A screenshot from the Audacity open source audio editor shows three tracks that are time-aligned for content but have different starting points. Each track has a monochrome strip showing amplitude as a wave envelope above a colorful "waterfall" display of spectral content over time. The spectral display puts frequency on the vertical axis while keeping time on the horizontal. Brighter colors indicate larger amplitudes across frequency and time.
With some guidance from Claude AI, I resampled one clip so they exactly aligned in time (to about 5 mS) over the 90 minute span. Then I used Audacity to recover the tracks independently before mixing them down to final. The spectral tools are amazing for tasks like removing room resonance.
13.02.2026 06:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Audacity is a terrific open source audio editor that I've used for many years, but tonight I used it in a new way. Videographing a live event, some EMI from the building left me with two messy audio streams. One was noisy and clipped, the other from a cheap backup mic far from the speakers. (cont'd)

I don't think I'm in love with the loop syntax, but it's a lot of spectacular results with minimal code size, I'll give you that. :)
It's staggering, all the despicable things people are doing to each other. Aerosol bombs in Gaza, ICE building warehouse concentration camps, Epstein pit deepens daily...
We're at a place where nothing is unthinkable anymore. It's a part of everyday life.

Age verification: The 12AU7A was a small, inexpensive vacuum tube popular in TV and radio equipment. It's decent at audio and lower radio frequencies, not great for VHF and UHF. It was to tubes what the 741 op amp was (is!) to analog integrated circuits: Nothing special, but a damned fine workhorse.

Quoting from a Claude AI chat (some web research) after I asked for a summary, and it chose Markdown instead of Word format:

On Linux you can detach a process from its parent with a utility called "nohup" (short for "no hangup", a holdover from the days of dialup terminals). Sounds as if they are doing something like that, but I have no powershell-fu to say *how*.
