Money is being spent to keep the lights on. Federal funds go to more than just paychecks. And some paychecks, like military, border patrol, and federal police are still being paid out. (We are really getting somewhere now. Very exciting! No need to bring up the off-topic CR at this point.)

Money is clearly being spent, though. The federal government is still functioning, just paychecks have temporarily stopped for many workers and some other things have been shut down. There is still a lot being funded. You can see that, right? Like the FAA won't just stop its work on November 1.

The USDA has an emergency contingency fund. It can use this and is choosing not to understand orders from the president. Were you aware of that?

You should read up on this. There is money allocated for SNAP already. The CR stalemate is not relevant.

Oh yeah, those are totally comparable. Seriously, he has plans laid out and you may think they are unrealistic in totality, but a lot of people will be satisfied if they are only partly achieved. It's a lazy analogy to compare physical or scientific problems to political or economic ones.

I think those jobs will come back. But I am sorry that it may take too long for some people. I hope you are able to pay the bills with something you like okay until you can get back to it.

It's a ridiculous plan also! It requires a continuous flow of original work to imitate or it's useless. But the plan is for it to make original work non-profitable. So it will have nothing worthwhile to imitate and will devolve to a boring sameness. Even if it goes perfectly it will be awful.

You nailed this! And once you see things through this lens, virtually every position they have is consistent with it. It makes sense of beliefs they hold that are otherwise seemingly inconsistent with each other.

I think that advertisers prefer discrete population sets over continuous ones. They break up the markets arbitrarily so they can sell targeted campaigns to companies. Crazy, conspiracy theory? Maybe.

Yes, that is true. But it is also strange that the dates aren't prominently included by the pollsters in any of their information. That's like a basic rule of political polling.

Why are the dates the poll data collected not included? October 1 is very different from October 20 in this race.

Plus it's a stupid philosophy to begin with. They are self-shunning. Why would anyone purposely take themselves out of enjoying the main strengths of humanity, community and cooperation?

If you are on the right, criticism from someone above your status, is assumed to be deserved. From someone below you, just ignore or mock it. The left doesn't have everyone lined up like that, so criticism is considered on its merits. That's too painful for a surprisingly large number of people.
