Did a quick devlog/demo of some NPC spawning and post spawn behavior system. Exploring how I can work with Godot's "tool" feature to expose some things to the editor that players don't get to see but devs get to enjoy!

Been working on systems a bunch recently and finally moved to Trenchbroom to make a tiny map. Small hunting party of 3 friends in an internal test! Got to play around with some textures by @strideh.bsky.social 😃

Was having issues with name and health/mana bars stacking with different camera angles. I ultimately just put them all in their own viewport and it "seems" to be working better. At least they're on in the same billboard now!

01.07.2025 21:00 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I have really enjoyed working with Godot in general. The node system and gdscript make a lot of sense to me. The engine and editor are pretty lightweight and don’t take an eternity to start. And all of the 3D stuff is more than capable for the 3D work I am doing.

Recently picked up a tablet to do some drawing with Kritta (VERY NEW). Grew up on #EverQuest and had some fun tinkering around. I really need to spend a little time playing around with brushes. But... not to bad for a programmer!
