The only possible "good" news about this is that since EA patched in requiring secure boot, they more than likely can patch it out in the future. I guess I'll just wait until EA decides to get its head out its ass and remove the secure boot requirement. Until then, I'll just hold on to my $70

Apparently EA updated BF2042 to require secure boot, which is kind of absolutely bullshit. As if the playerbase already wasn't small enough, now there's people who bought the game and were able to run it fine who aren't allowed to play the game because they don't have secure boot enabled

When I first installed my SSD, Windows didn't warn me whatsoever that UEFI could ONLY boot from the GPT partition style. It's actually really fuckin stupid that UEFI doesn't support MBR whatsoever. This has literally never been a problem except for when EA decided "let's make users use secure boot."

Thank goodness EA is shooting itself in the foot by requiring Secure Boot for Battlefield 6. I was worried I was going to buy it, but now I can't launch the beta without reformatting my 2TB SSD, which I won't do.
