From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."

When It Happens It’s been so long, you sometimes forget that eventually, IT will HAPPEN. It’s impossible to say when IT will HAPPEN. But it can’t be too long until...

"Of course, it doesn’t feel right to want IT to HAPPEN. And it’s obviously not okay to try to make IT HAPPEN. That’s not what this is ABOUT, just to make things CLEAR LEGALLY as far as VARIOUS AGENCIES are concerned."

For the record: this would pretty much ends American field work in the geosciences in China.

That includes:
-the world's largest plateau
-the world's best ice age land sedimentary archive
-number of major fault systems

That'd be a lot easier if the Democrats weren't themselves corrupt.

See: the "clean" CR they strategically had 8 members who are conveniently all not up for reelection next year vote for in exchange for nothing legislatively, but plenty of Dems are paid by the same lobbyists as the GOP.

The attorney general and the FBI director, a manosphere podcaster bro, pulled into the situation room a member of Congress best known for getting kicked out of a Beetlejuice musical for drunkenly giving her date a handy, in order to pressure her about the president's child sex trafficking scandal.

Like trying to solve debt by taking out enormous loans in the hopes that once you're super "rich" you can buy your way out of having to repay them...

I realized why this article bothers me. It's because it narrows being a devote Christian narrowly to ideas around sex which is an inherently conservative definition of Christianity. Talarico says his Christianity is what compels him to care about the poor.

Oil is the most Lovecraftian thing that actually exists. You're telling me that there's a black ichor under the earth, made from the ancient dead, whose burning can realize all the dreams of man but only at the price of slowly returning the earth to its primordial state?

Remember when post 9/11 there was a right wing scare that Muslims would out populate Christians and become the new majority within a generation?

I did some rough math back then, and it was something like every Muslim woman would need to have over 150 babies and no one else have any

NYers didn't even travel to Turkey in greater numbers after years of Eric "the first stop is always Istanbul" Adams, and Uncle Tubs thinks they're gonna convert to Islam. What a dumbass.

I'm not sure on the capitulation part, but it does have some redeeming aspects in that them actually leaving the country differentiates them from the many thousands of people who say they'll leave if X gets elected and never do.

It demonstrates that they truly mean their warnings.

Omg I’m dying πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β€¦so…So Emily Austin, a right wing 'influencer' who works for Bibi and the GOP, launched 'Hot Girls for Cuomo'.

Guess who didn't bother to register the URL when she did that? What do you think Hot Girls for Cuomo dot com leads to now?... πŸ˜„ Enjoy.

The way I hear national news outlets cover California’s redistricting without putting the context of Trump’s unprecedented and blatant move to rig the election is so baffling.

It’s such a failure of accurate journalism that has led us to the largest threat to our democracy.

No matter how hard people try to convince us having empathy is wrong,

it is right.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that diversity is a weakness,

it is a strength.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that love is limited,

it is unlimited.

Americans across the country made it clear that this country is not ready to sit back and accept a lawless, racist takeover. Our past mistakes do not prevent us from eventually doing the right thing and sending these assholes packing. This year several states removed the yoke. Next year, Congress.

Today I'm thinking of the idea that "Americans will always do the right thing - once all other possibilities are exhausted."

The median voter was dumb as a bag of rocks for letting Trump and the GOP back into power, but the median voter also isn't on board with their fascist takeover.

Democrats just ran the table, winning the marquee races -- NJ and VA sweeps, NYC mayor, CA prop, PA Supreme Court -- and lower-profile races in red and purple states across the nation.

If the media you're reading or watching paints this as anything but a massive win, stop reading or watching them.

I could make up a theory for that based on "it's ruinously expensive and difficult so they all agreed to deescalate" or something, but the intellectual capacity to do that also allows one to recognize that the moon landings were real.

You have to be stupid to think they're fake, full stop.
