Hello Newm... I mean Atlantic! Tropical Storm #Jerry has joined the show.
Tropical Storm Jerry was named earlier today. The forecast path is expected to keep this one mainly for the fishes. So lets have a little fun with it...
Is this one for Jerry Springer or Jerry Seinfeld?

Another great harvest sunset tonight from the air! Looks like beans are mostly out along this stretch of farmland. Corn looks to fall next! Does it get any better than this?

There's something special about harvest shots in the fall... especially at sunset. Mesmerizing. Peaceful. Part of it caused by all that dust being kicked up by those beans! It's giving quite the contrast in the setting sun.
What a great shot captured up near Ralston, IA Thursday night.

Continue to see some elevated fire concerns over NW Iowa on Saturday. Wind gusts from the south could reach 40 mph. Coupled with dry conditions, wild fires could spread very quickly in the conditions at hand.
Temps will be in the upper 80s w/ 90ยฐ potential in NW Iowa. #IAWX #FireDanger

It'll be a shock to the system early next week to say the least. Slash in temps is expected. Latest signals continue to point to something a bit more chilly. 50s and 60s across Minnesota and Iowa Tuesday afternoon. #IAWX #MNWX

Friday's forecast is pointing at 90ยฐ. 90s in October are pretty rare! There are only 11 instances of 90ยฐ+ temps happening in October for the #DesMoines record book that dates back to 1878.
2 of those 11 happened in the last two years! We might make it three in a row! Impressive! #IAWX

Looking at a pretty stout setup that brings a decent chunk of wind into the Midwest either Saturday or Sunday. There's some differences in the data, but the signal is consistent to pop the south wind up ahead of an advancing cold front to follow. #IAWX #MNWX

Northern Lights are out in the northern United States Monday night. This is from Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior.
Possible viewing southward through Minnesota/Michigan is likely. Possible viewing into parts of Iowa. Look on the low northern horizon away from city lights for best chance

Blocking pattern and some tropical systems are keeping IA weather stagnant. Especially watching Invest 94 in the Atlantic closely. Forecast trends continue to pull it closer to the Carolinas, if not making landfall. Will need to watch this one for significant rainfall.

Snooze-fest in Iowa for the next week+ ahead!
Blocking pattern looks to set up over the eastern US this weekend into next week. Look for a ridge to help keep the Midwest dry and moisture starved. Carolinas up through the Virginias look to hog the moisture off the Atlantic. #IAWX
Here's your #Fastcast for Tuesday evening. Entering a quiet pattern for the Midwest. It may be Fall but there's now huge signs of it around in the temperature department. #IAWX #Iowa #DSM
