Avatar Prerelease was super fun! Ended up going 2W-1L with allies and some light airbending.

Seeded pack was mid though, lots of random colors, just like with Tarkir. I think that’s an area WoTC can improve on.

Surprisingly fun to keep air bending your opponent’s stuff 🤩

One of my favorite things about Magic is gathering with the friends for some games. This weekend we did a EoE draft and here is the deck I put together. Halfway through I pivoted to picking the pretty lands, because how can you not?!

When the price of prerelease is greater than precons, the plot hath been lost.

Just saw the contents were now posted. Admittedly a bit disappointed that it’s not an actual tool kit for building a ‘precon’. WoTC couldn’t even throw in a command tower.

This type of product is lacking with the popularity of the format, esp if they’re trying to onboard new players.

Whereas with Foundations bundle, the goal was to help standard ‘flourish’.

I’m curious what the new ‘commander bundle’ from avatar will look like, since no commander decks from that set. Plus with the beginner box from Avatar, I wonder if the goal is to entice and enable new players a way to build their own precon (maybe some instructional template in the bundle).
