On the eve when summer first exhaled its warm breath, she walked the ancient promenade where lanterns bobbed like captive stars.
No one remembered her name.
But beneath that pale moon, a stranger waited in the shadows, eyes dark with secrets he had vowed never to share. And so it begins.
