Greg Iles passed away yesterday, and my heart is heavy. His work inspired me to write paranormal thrillers in the first place. His stories showed me how deep, human, and haunting good writing can be, and I will always be grateful for that spark. Rest in peace, Greg. Your words will live on.

Lately I’ve been reflecting on just how far things have come.

Running 2 bookstores, Pixie Drops, coach indie authors,ghost hunts, & write books.

It’s a lot & everything I’ve worked for.

All with a community that shows up, supports, and believes in it all.

Thank you for being part of it.

This weekend I get to check something big off my paranormal bucket list with a full investigation at the historic Perryville Battlefield. Even better, I get to do it with some of the most amazing friends a person could ask for. I’m feeling grateful and so ready to see what the night has in store.

I love these little tiny pop up thunderstorms. My dogs? Not so much.

Running a bookstore isn’t always the dream people think it is. Some days it’s receipts, repairs, and wondering if the coffee counts as a meal. But then I see someone fall in love with a book, or hear laughter in the aisles, and suddenly all the hard parts feel like bricks in something beautiful.

Why don’t skeletons ever start a bookstore?

Because they don’t have the guts for it.
