17.02.2026 13:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It strikes me that any proper horror game will need an underlying stress/fear/sanity mechanic, which many games lack. Supers games often need to scale attributes from low to, well, superhuman.
17.02.2026 13:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It has long been said that most fantasy settings are really post-apocalyptic, with all the ruins of fallen kingdoms hiding forgotten treasures. Most sci-fi setting do post-apoc and (non-magical) historical settings too, primitive cultures with less tech.

16.02.2026 18:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, that's a terrible idea. Very different skill sets, but more importantly, very different motivations. I'm a forever DM largely by choice. My best players have no interest in GMing. It's not really a progression of some sort.

13.02.2026 17:05 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Common law councils of local elders serve most small towns & villages. Formal courts are found in larger cities. Local temples may serve as proxies. Jury trials are rare anywhere, except among halflings.

12.02.2026 23:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I agree that the computational substrate doesn't matter. I've never said otherwise. I do not accept the claim that cognition must be reducible to computability. I'm not a dualist- the mind is a physical system. But biochemical systems still require empirical methods for a reason.
