I've always told people to get general IT experience first. Helpdesk, Sysadmin, Cloudadmin.

Then move into an InfoSec role as part of a team with seniors you can learn from.

Learning Python, PowerShell and Bash help.

I don't know. When was the last time a press release about a new product accurately reflected what it could do? I know there's some fear of quantum systems breaking encryption but I wonder how much is just inflating fear for headlines. I'm much more afraid that people still leave RDP ports open.

I mean, if they're telling us about it it can't be too scary. If it could read anything, it'd be in the NSA and classified.
