Seven years ago I interviewed Gints about his first movie. What he’s accomplished since is extraordinary.

Dipped into Monument Valley 3. Can confirm that the artists at UsTwo Games still have the stuff.

It’s a beautiful show and I feel like the second season in particular has gone under the radar.

Traditional content skateboarding will always have its place.
And there’s a lot to like about the Street League format.
But this new Pro Skateboarding League is fun. There’s lots to refine but the core idea is really solid.
If you’re curious, give it a try!

This format has two major advantages:
1) No subjective judging. Like tennis, the point scoring is black and white.
2) Fewer perceived bails. Plenty of tricks are successfully set, which makes it fun for casual viewers.
(Casual viewers often complain that the Olympic format has too many bails.)
There are a few more rules, like how many chances your get to set a trick before everything flips over and the other team starts setting tricks.
But it’s dead simple to wrap your head around after the first five minutes.
It’s essentially a game of SKATE that takes place down a small set of stairs. If your opponent can’t match your trick, you gain a point.
But here’s the interesting bit: it’s a 2 vs 2 format! So each team has two chances to match the trick that’s been set.
There’s a new pro skateboarding format called the Professional Skateboarding League.
After watching the first exhibition match, I really dig it.
