Where ya going? I’m pretty much a shut in these days but I’m thinking of and missing you all!

I just cleaned my yarn ball winder, and whew I did not realize it was so dirty!

None of my yarn stash is working for what I want to do! I miss having a local yarn store.

All these new knitters working on their first sweater top down and then realizing they messed up the neck or don’t like it 😒

Niche annoyance: I answered someone’s knitting question on Reddit, they responded, but now I can’t read the rest of their comment because they deleted the post!

The number of items in a $150 grocery order sure keeps going down. I did buy some meat on sale this time, but that’s pretty far down the priority list!

We started using some toilet paper that was left in the house before we moved in, so 5+ years old. Of course it is much thicker and better than the same brand bought today 😒

I’m in the mood to cook and bake, but we are rich in food and really don’t need it! Made a little upside down cake with leftover pineapple from making pizza.

Dale is wearing my ribbed leg warmers while snow blowing/shovelling and he said it makes a big difference - no more snow in boots or soggy pants!

Dale gave me this locally-designed puzzle for Christmas, but the puzzle is clipped WAY inside the edges of the image. The CN tower is completely cut off! Apparently they didn’t realize until the finished puzzles came in, and still sold them for Xmas 😑 they’re sending a reprinted one in Feb.

Feels pretty useless to publish knitting patterns into the void, but it’s all I know how to do 🙃

Homemade pecan caramels for Christmas! This year I poured the caramel onto a bed of chopped pecans instead of pressing a pecan into each one. They actually look pretty good!

I got some Tonka beans! What should I do with them?

Went out to get bloodwork done, came home with a pile of candy and ingredients from Bulk Barn!

When I put bay leaves in rice, it’s SO aromatic! But I do have a pretty sensitive sniffer.

I poached some chicken breasts with a couple of bay leaves and they definitely taste like bay! I think people who don’t believe bay leaves have a taste just have super old ones.

I canNOT deal with people using LLMs for recipes and being confused when they don’t turn out.

One of the guys picking up our mattress return asked Dale to microwave his food 😂 he was very appreciative.

Re-blocked the squares side with wires and pins, much happier with it. But then I realized the lining was too tight, so I ripped that out to knit again on larger needles 🙃

Had a bout of blurry vision yesterday, so booked an eye exam for today. I was overdue anyway. Everything was fine and healthy, prescription didn’t change much, probably just ocular migraine. At least now I have a baseline retinal scan since I got the Graves diagnosis.

Evergreen problem: want to buy yarn, no money for yarn!
