Targeting congressional candidate for destruction by issuing a incoherent indictment that will make her a household name and probably help her raise a bazillion dollars. Don't interrupt me; I am very smart and I have definitely heard of The Internet before today.

Even if they achieve nothing at these UN Climate Change Conferences (i.e., COPs), we always get updates about how fucked we are so that's something.

My partner and I (both seniors) have different extended health coverage plans. When we went last week for our first shingles shots, mine was fully covered but he paid full price - $200 (at a BC pharmacy). We’re fortunate we felt we could afford his - many could not ☹️

I stopped listening to Bill Gates talk about climate change a long time ago.

You should stop too.

Yes. North American car makers have been dragging their heels on EVs for decades and shouldn’t be rewarded for that πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

For the record, Melissa's main targets of Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba, and the Bahamas account for, respectively, 0.016%, 0.0089%, 0.064%, and 0.0038% of the global annual total of CO2 emissions.

I don't think we should talk about climate change anymore, we should talk about kitchen-table issues. Like how climate change will destroy your kitchen table and everything else you have

Nothing better than a power outage in the middle of a work day especially when the ferry is cancelled so the hydro trucks can’t get here to fix it. Going to enjoy my afternoon off ❀️❀️❀️

As the Atlantic Ocean warms, climate change is fueling Hurricane Melissa's ferocity Hurricane Melissa has rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm due to warming oceans linked to climate change.

I am thinking of the people of Jamaica, and the many New Yorkers with loved ones there, as Hurricane Melissa β€” fueled by a warming ocean β€” grows into the strongest storm ever to bear down upon the island.

Accelerated glacier melt is threatening Europe's villages, rivers and economies Temperatures in Europe are increasing at twice the average global rate. As glaciers in the Swiss Alps disappear, Europe's biggest rivers are losing a crucial source of their summer water flow.

"the Rhone isn't the only river whose source is a glacier - the Rhine, the Danube, the Po - the continent's biggest rivers all start here. And when these glaciers are gone, Farinotti says, these rivers will be forever altered."

Global use of coal hit record high in 2024 Bleak report finds greenhouse gas emissions are still rising despite β€˜exponential’ growth of renewables

This is the problem - renewables not replacing fossil fuels but complementing them

We need emissions to at least halve within 50 months, but they continue to head upwards

Our prospects are truly dismal
