Judge blocks Trump admin from rescinding health grants to Democratic-led states The ruling temporarily blocks the Trump Administration from cutting $600 million in public health grants that had already been allocated to four Democratic-led states.

Unbelievable that we still talk about withholding HIV funding as a form of political maneuvering rather than an act of social murder, as if the 80’s + 90’s never happened and we didn’t lose an entire generation to this already.

Christopher Mathias on the administration's racist and white nationalist rhetoric: DHS, on New Year's Eve, posted the word re-migration. I saw the word arrive on America's shores about ten years ago, and it was in the private chats of Nazi groups. Now it's on the White House's official account.

lol
1) I didn’t say that
2) I’m not mad
3) not my anecdote (I’m literally responding to someone else’s anecdote)
4) telling people their lived experience is meaningless because of average data is insane
5) that last statement isn’t using an anecdote to describe economic trends or data

Hate to break it to you but price tags are on every shelf. To pretend that people don’t notice the price of eggs unless a politician tells them is insane. And not good politics to talk people the frustrations of surviving life are not bad you’ve just been brainwashed is too

Getting what? OP is responding to people talking about their personal budgets with aggregate numbers divorced from personal experience

I’m sorry but people don’t budget based on aggregate price changes. They budget based on what $ that have and what the $ are of the things they need. To diminish this because an aggregate figure like the chart you provide (which does not say average or median on it) has a smallish percent is weird.

Post from the Department of State: "We do not want allies to be shackled by guilt and shame"

This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

The acting director of ICE told Congress, under oath, that local law enforcement in Colorado leaked raid plans, allowing gang members to escape.

After 9NEWS questioned ICE's claim and its timeline, ICE deleted the claim from its social media platforms.

The percent of the Trump cabinet with ties to Epstein is grossly disproportionate to the percent of American adults with qualifications for these postings.

U.S. drivers spend less than 2% of their disposable income on gasoline and that’s a perennial topic. I really have no idea what your point is that people shouldn’t notice when their costs go up?

All of this is absurd. This wall in Germany split up a people joined together barely 100 years before it went up. They treat these relatively new national identities as immutable and ancient.

Rubio is old enough to know the rhetoric he is promoting is exactly how we got the genocides in Bosnia, Serbia, and Armenia.

Most national identities in Europe aren’t much older than the international organizations that comprised the Europe that exists now. Indeed many European identities were created BY these international consensus. It’s weird to say that poke Belgian identity is immutable and changing it is a tragedy.

Utterly unacceptable in a democracy. In a sane world, House Republicans would be drafting impeachment articles today and Senate Republicans would be preparing for a trial to convict and remove him from office

Democrats are fucking stupid for not pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of Republicans weaponizing antisemitism against their enemies (which is harmful to the Jewish community) while being a bunch of flat out antisemitic monsters.

Government is supposed to serve people. This Republican Party has made it so the people serve the government. This is a classic conservative belief that people are subservient to betters.

A newly unsealed FBI interview shows an entire Deutsche Bank staff team internally tried to cut ties with Jeffrey Epstein in 2015, after seeing wires to young women. One compliance officer says she was later pushed out and fired after raising the issue. Management kept the accounts open.
