Earlier today, the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Gypsies, Travellers and Roma met a delegation from Slovenia who are currently working with the University of Liverpool and The University of Manchester on the racialisation of Roma communities in Europe.

Gypsy and Traveller communities are twice as likely to be depressed and are three times more likely to be anxious than others. Our casework indicates a disproportionately high prevalence of suicide among the communities we work with. (1/3)

We're asking the Minister to:
π Investigate discriminatory insurance practices, and ensure regulation includes scrutiny of indirect racial discrimination;
π Request transparency from insurers on pricing algorithms and postcode exclusions;
βοΈ Support inclusive products for mobile homes and caravans.
With sites often located in places where other people would not be expected to live, such as near sewage works and flood plains, there is an increased need for insurance to protect against the high risks and impact of living there.
