Mexico has sent a team of expert first responders trained in flood relief to Texas. They have committed to “staying until the last victim is found.”

I’m grateful the compassion of Mexicans exceeds the hate from the US president.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I can't imagine the horror of parents watching their babies continuously wail because they're starving, & desperately trying to feed them painful solids they're too young for.

There will be a moral reckoning one day for everyone who enabled this, including enabling it with their silence.

It's a fantastic book - download it - buy it - or just borrow it and read it. The Dust Bowl Triolgy are worth the effort.

Discovery: Most Americans don't know anything works, because we're all uneducated dipshits fueled by conspiracy theories.

In the US, the debate rages on whether Cali or Texas has better Mexican food (or Mex-inspired food). But based on my experience, those two duke it out while New Mexico sits back, quietly having the best food. There is a deep richness & freshness to it.

I read Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk.

I was surprised by how much certain themes in the story resonated with me. So I wrote about it & created a dada-inspired collage while I meditated on these themes, primarily of fathers and sons, and of women and men.

Today’s #BreakfastOTD I subbed roasted sweet potatoes seasoned with garlic powder & smoked paprika for the barley I’ve been eating.

Changed up the sourdough from white flour to whole wheat too. Kept the kimchi, bacon, & marinated egg. Split the orange with the spouse. Eat your fiber, y’all.

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

Corned beef and cabbage is a classic. So good!

Another excellent #BreakfastOTD - rewarmed burrito bowl from Chipotle. Topped with guacamole salsa & a fried egg. Sprinkled tajin over the top. Homemade iced coffee to go with. This tastes better the second time around.
