04.09.2025 23:25 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks, I appreciate that.
04.08.2025 22:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah I'm sure Universal Legal would enjoy writing them a cease and desist letter. It seems like Krotos just took this persons personal instagram post and are now running it as a Facebook ad.
04.08.2025 20:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't find Krotos software useful personally, fine for those who do. I've never heard anything out of Dehumanizer I thought sounded good and every time I tried it, I quickly gave up on it. So I just want to set the record straight, no Krotos software was used on the movie Jurassic World Rebirth.
04.08.2025 20:11 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I was about to find this post on Instagram, and it appears this person was using Krotos Studio to do the sound effects for his own version of the trailer. Fine. But IF Krotos is running this as an ad, I think it's in pretty bad taste. They certainly don't label it as 'fan art'.
04.08.2025 20:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A friend sent me this, asking if this person, or @krotos.bsky.social had anything to do with Jurassic World Rebirth, the answer is NO, I have no idea why Krotos is seemingly running what may be a pretty misleading ad that sort of implies it. But to be clear, I do not use Krotos software EVER.
04.08.2025 20:08 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Well played, Filemail. Well played.
30.07.2025 04:09 β π 27 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0This movie long predates Boom libraries!

18.07.2025 01:40 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Except the terms of what they posted SPECIFICALLY said it was to train AI. And now the terms are vague enough that they could still do it. Their terms most certainly do not say explicitly that they won't!
17.07.2025 03:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This made me giggle.
15.07.2025 19:57 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe my favorite film of last year.
15.07.2025 19:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I should point out, I was passing along information about WeTransfer I saw here on BlueSky posted by someone else, I wasn't the one to find this. They seem to be backtracking, but I still wouldn't trust them. tinyurl.com/2w88d283
15.07.2025 15:01 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0For an alternative to WeTransfer check out www.swisstransfer.com, free to use, up to 30 day links and 50GB uploads, with up to 250 downloads. And terms that clearly state they won't use the content or email addresses, and you don't even need to register for an account.
15.07.2025 04:00 β π 43 π 18 π¬ 4 π 0Well when you send a link to someone who is using WeTransfer, you're not sending them an encryption key, so for sure unless you are encrypting before uploading to WeTransfer, your data is not being encrypted.

15.07.2025 03:03 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Very much time to stop using WeTransfer, with their updated terms that clearly state they have the right to use anything you transfer across their service, to train AI, create derivative works, basically steal and use anything you post through them. This is now laid out in section 6.3, posted below:

12.06.2025 00:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I usually just live with the SM-Rec files to be honest. But what I do is as soon as I'm done in Radium, if I'm just going to keep those files, I drop into SM and do proper metadata, and the use UCS Build to do the filenames. Or I pull that material into ProTools to finish designing.
07.06.2025 21:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm not here much, but I have released a new Soundminer v6.2 Update video covering most of the main new features in this new version. It's free, about an hour long and anyone who would like can download it at tinyurl.com/ycy4j6h7.

05.06.2025 14:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. Pretty cool to say today though 'yeah, I own a quarter of a Petabyte', or I guess I could say I own 2.112e+15 bits!
04.06.2025 23:50 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Today I calculated that I own 264 Terrabytes of storage. My first professional hard drive, back in 1995, was a 4 gigabyte and cost me $1600. Which meant I paid $400 a gigabyte in 1995. 264TB is 264,000 Gigabytes. So the storage I have, back in 1995 would have cost $105,600,000.00 dollars.
