Anti-immigration demonstration in the Netherlands escalates. This is exactly what happens when far-right ideas are tolerated and normalised over an extended period of time. The far right gains confidence and grows, both at the ballot box and in the streets.

The article is openly available.
Empirically, we perform a quantitative content analysis on parliamentary speeches by far-right parties and develop an illiberalism dictionary for the context of the European Parliament. Based on this dictionary, we identify illiberal speeches and report annual percentual shares.

Dabei hat die Bundesregierung doch dafür gesorgt dass die Asylanträge zurückgehen, dass endlich mehr abgeschoben wird, dass die Grenzen kontrolliert, Bezahlkarten eingeführt werden. Könnte es vielleicht sein dass rechte Politik nicht gegen Rechtsextreme hilft?
