How does sound, shape, and structure pattern our worlds and ways of belonging? How often do the rhythms and pulses of our everyday lives offer forms of belonging (1/2)

This happens to me a lot with Eddie Murphy films but they are certain lines somehow all deeply embedded in my head!

While in residence, Marlo will be exploring these themes in a myriad of manifestations, ranging from (deep) listening sessions, live-streamed panel (with Sounding Out!) and performance, all in accordance with the theme of Dreaming and Listening as a Form of Activism.

Project aims to create a contemporary sonic adaptation of T’nalak weavings of the T’boli people of the Philippines and create decolonial Deep Listening scores in resonance with that process.’

T’nalak weaving is a practice by women referred to as “dream weavers,” as designs are sourced from dreams.

After a major break and pacing my creative energetic waxing and waning, I call to indigenous knowledges and dreams. I am an artist in residence September at The Soil Factory who received a Andy Warhol Foundation grant continuing its work to allow artists to explore.

Disabled people say “survival is resistance” because we can’t fight fascism if we’re dead

Many are barely holding on.

We know our lives are at risk.

Some of us can’t boycott or protest without risking death.

If we say something is inaccessible, believe us.

Help include us. We want to fight

Brought up a concern to someone and they said they didn’t want to fight. I said “doesn’t have to be a fight and if you agree we can discuss it. “They snapped back “it’s only not a fight if I agree with you.”

Don’t even know what to do with that response. But it literally broke my brain.
