Disabled people say “survival is resistance” because we can’t fight fascism if we’re dead

Many are barely holding on.

We know our lives are at risk.

Some of us can’t boycott or protest without risking death.

If we say something is inaccessible, believe us.

Help include us. We want to fight

Brought up a concern to someone and they said they didn’t want to fight. I said “doesn’t have to be a fight and if you agree we can discuss it. “They snapped back “it’s only not a fight if I agree with you.”

Don’t even know what to do with that response. But it literally broke my brain.

Jeanette Vizguerra is a mother, union leader, and pillar of the Denver community.

She was abducted by ICE on Monday evening on her way back from work - without a valid deportation order.

Growing up believing in the fundamental worth of human life, the power of empathy, and that violence is always going to do harm, a net negative, even if it is necessary.

And if you think you agree with those things and you're not radical, you're a problem.
