Unfortunately, I had similar experiences, as some of the characters in Rage. Fortunately, I had art and music to turn to rather than overt violence. It's kind of crazy how those books were so prescient. Reality TV, school shootings, etc.

I read this shortly after the release of the Backman Books. I was fifteen, those stories hit different as an angry punk teen.

This is hilarious and so ludicrous that it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility. I want to hit that like button, but I hate it at the same time. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

My guess is, they want you to see it in the hopes you'll be turned on. Then again, I don't fully understand humiliation kinks, so I could be wrong.

Using hydrogen as fuel. We used solar panels to produce about 30 mL of hydrogen and oxygen from distilled water. The hydrogen was used to produce about 1.5 volts to power some small devices. Electrochemistry is pretty cool.

Nice! I have all that stuff as well. Except for that life tent thing. I just a cut piece of thick plastic. But, that looks more compact.

I'll have to get him one eventually. Right now, he has a medium-sized tree with several giant speaker boxes.

Today, my student advisor is telling me I should get writing 327 out of the way for spring term. Otherwise, I'll wind up with two math classes. Nooooope, I'll take that writing class, please, and thank you.

I had a similar thought the other day. Only it was The Expanse.

I've been vaguely searching for a good math app, preferably free. What would be cool is practice problems that will show me the steps to solving the problem once I input an answer. The app then gives me a new problem to solve.

Facts. It's also a bit maddening when someone who owns 15 guns claims their second amendment rights are being removed because they can only buy one gun every thirty days. Or they can't buy a magazine with more than ten rounds. And on and on.

It's like January is a time when you realize all of the hope, joy, romanticism, and expectations of December are a big fat disappointment. Sorta like what you thought you'd be when you were a teenager versus how you turned out as an adult. Sad trombone noise.

I had a similar experience. Shattered ankle and broken tibia. 4 nights in the hospital and an all day surgery. Here in the US, I was out 35k. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Canada sounds pretty great!

A couple of years later, a snowboarding accident caused a broken tibia and shattered ankle... 35k. Insurance is a massive scam and Healthcare is unaffordable to entirely too many people.

At one point in my life, I had insurance that basically lied about what it would cost out of pocket. A couple of years later I went to have my hearing checked ( turns out I was almost legally deaf ). I got a 20k bill. Insurance refused to cover most everything.

I watched it too, and wished I hadn't.

I love this for you! No spoilers other than to say it's an outstanding espionage/spy thriller. Straight out of early William Gibson novels.

I feel this. My cat and I talk a lot. He's learning physics and integral calculus right now. Although he regularly falls asleep in class.

Watching scientists debunk flat earth hypothesis is a fun way to test what I'm studying in classical mechanics. There are times, though, when I can understand why they get confused! Scale and the concept of closed systems tend to go over their heads. Some things might seem counterintuitive.

I just started the Phantom Liberty DLC on Cyberpunk 2077. So far, it's really good.

The nuanced language of one dimensional motion in physics is wildly annoying. Just a thought.

Visiting the parental units in AZ reminds me how much I miss the desert. However, the Phoenix metrplex is unsustainable. Working on a BSE in renewable energy has me thinking about the ways that the valley can prepare for a future of excessive heat and water shortages.
