Our city isn't doing enough to protect low-income renters. In 2023, over 80% of lower-income renters were cost burdened. That's unacceptable. We need a rent stabilization policy to ensure that renters can call Minneapolis home for generations to come. www.startribune.com/twin-cities-...

30.10.2025 14:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bulldozing encampments is as expensive as it is ineffective. 90% of people who are living in encampments are already on waiting lists for housing. Mayor Frey's approach is to make our unhoused neighbors invisible. Thatβs not a solution, thatβs playing politics with people's lives.
29.10.2025 21:20 β π 60 π 14 π¬ 1 π 2The goal is to have no encampments. But until the city funds housing-first solutions, they're inevitable. Frey's encampment sweeps don't work. He isn't solving homelessness, he's wasting valuable resources. Everyone deserves a dignified path to housing, not a fenced off sidewalk.

Minneapolis needs to take a housing first approach to homelessness. Without a well-resourced, compassionate, and resident-focused approach, the conditions for violence in encampments will continue to exist. Tragedies like the one last night are completely avoidable.

In December, it announced $7.5B in stock buybacks β which juice stock prices, enriching shareholders and boosting CEO pay.

The Mayor has failed to implement the Emergency Housing Vouchers program meant to provide housing and wraparound services for 50 individuals/ 50 families experiencing chronic unsheltered homelessness.
He even proposed cutting the program entirely next year. It could have helped. π
We need your help to schedule a blood drive in support of local hospitals! 40 pledges are required to secure a blood drive. You do *not* need to be a member to participate. We'll reach out with more details once we reach the threshold.

Walmart spent $35.3B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2024, enough to give each of its 2.2M employees annual bonuses of $2,719.
Last year, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon pocketed $27.4M β 930x the company's median employee pay of just $29,469.

On October 1st the first $17 billion in federal Medicaid cuts will take effect.
This is just the beginning of a $911 billion reduction over the next decade.
And it will hurt the health care industry, one of the only industries adding jobs right now.

This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.
May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

Regulate the rental market and build public housing. Implement vacancy fines, fine slumlords for inhuman living conditions, and hire inspectors to enforce all of this. Unregulated capitalism is killing us. Housing is a human right.
