I'm not religious at all, but it's a nearly spiritual experience for me using a church basement or a legion hall in a small town. A place clearly so lovingly tended to by decades of community members, so that there's a place to go, to gather.

I found myself in the hospital this weekend with a knee injury. I quickly learned that my local hospital has ONE bariatric wheelchair (and they share it with the long term care facility). Will be writing a lot of emails to the SHA and a certain health minister.

My grandparents got really sick with a flu bug when living alone. My grandfather had Alzheimer's. My grandmother couldn't drive and had mobility issues. They were both delusional by the time we got there. A support system with elder care and disabled care is crucial. No one can do it alone.
