The Robbie Williams biography Better Man hasn't gone down too well in America, but did they miss the point - and is Williams really anything more than just a performing ape?

I'd be interested to hear on this too. Gave up on Google Drive as the sync software brought my Mac to a crawl. Dropbox is better for backups, but...yeah, that.

Title:
The 'Narrator About To Ruin Your Audiobook' Talent Agency

[There follows a series of cheesy black and white actors’ headshots, with names and descriptive captions]

Liz Chirpley
A very expressive narrator. Like, far too expressive really. We've asked her to dial it down.

Greg Mistake
Once read a whole book on Chernobyl, out loud, for money. Still can't pronounce the word 'nuclear’.

Sebastian Equality
Does a really committed β€˜woman voice' for all his female characters. We’ve asked him to dial it down.

Brian Decanter
Will read your serious literary novel out *perfectly* apart from one (1) character which he will do in a sort of 'cartoon dog' voice and we simply do not know why.

British Voice 3
We found him in settings. Needs a charger but my god he's cheap.

Leonard Darling-Mwah
Really goes for the Indian accents!
Absolutely fearless. We've asked him to dial it down.

Chris
[Show an actor headshot of someone who is clearly a hand puppet]
The absolute king of trauma memoirs but when we give him biscuits they just fall out of his mouth onto the floor which makes us think he may be some kind of puppet.

Emily Lewis
[Show an actor headshot of a girl, eyes rolling up, clearly possessed]
Can do a very convincing 'man voice'. Needs restraints, and a priest.

J.C. Slurpee
Author with a really, really wet mouth who we had to let narrate his own book because he's famous.
Unlistenable.

Stuart Wilkinson
[Show an actor headshot of a duck]
Great energy, can't read.

A number of US β€œfederal agencies” have barred any mentions of #blackhistorymonth so, in celebration of blackness and, well, *people* and humankind in general, here are some drawings of my multitalented wife being incredible from a book we wrote together, due out in 2026. #blackisbeautiful #wip #DEI

10 years ago tonight, my good friend Andy Robinson uploaded a little #DoctorWho short film originally created to help promote a charity book project. To this day it's still one of the best Who fan films out there.

With all the uncertainty over Doctor Who season 3, it was good of #TheTraitors to give us an engaging (and affordable) new Doctor and Master dynamic.

My timeline is pure Lynch love at the moment and it’s beautiful.

It’s the kind of moment social media really shines in: celebrating that shared love.

You don’t understand why you don’t fit in, you try hard to twist yourself into the right shape that is acceptable, then, if you’re lucky, you realise you can stop breaking your bones and find the people and the environments that welcome the shape of who you are

It's been as sporadic a film franchise as they come, but what better time to look back over the entire cinematic saga than the year the fifth instalment was released; our thoughts on the five Indiana Jones movies:

We've just booked in for next Friday at our local arts cinema. Cost a bit, but it's the only local Devon showing this year that I can find. Original Japanese, too, which I'm pleased about.
