The morons who voted for him probably think it's a good deal.

Vietnam veteran, Army. Bruin for Life. Democracy is an essential part of America. I oppose tyranny in all its forms and I use profanity at times. Sorry, but I'm not interested in receiving messages.
The morons who voted for him probably think it's a good deal.
11.11.2025 04:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't think it would be a gift. They pushed the issue for a few weeks and knew it was doing well with ordinary folks.
They won the shutdown with that issue (and with Trump trying to starve poor hungry kids) and they will make ads for the midterms as soon as the ACA subsidies are defeated.
The regime already knew that. They supported Israel.
11.11.2025 04:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Diana gets it. Bluesky is full of folks badmouthing every Democrat because of what 8 senators did.
Trump laid off thousands, refused to release SNAP funds, sent the House home, indicted enemies, pardoned friends, paid troops to terrorize cities, and even blew up boats.
Yet folks are blaming Dems.
Trump is living is his very own idiocracy.
11.11.2025 00:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't know that there would have been any reopening without one side or the other caving.
Dragging out the shutdown just means the whole government stays shutdown and the pain falls wherever it falls.
He's a fucking moron, but the One Big Ugly Bill was passed exclusivity by Republicans who refused to speak to Democrats.
Everyone knows who 'the enemy' really is.
So, you would just shut down the whole government forever?
10.11.2025 20:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So, you would shut down the whole government forever?
Don't ever agree to do anything with anyone again?
"the people were on our side" = BFD
You could have won - WHAT? You had no leverage of any kind and no one was interested in talking to you.
Stop your whining.
There is NO ONE who actually thinks that, but, hey, thanks.
10.11.2025 19:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am really fucking tired of the complaining that goes on here.
If you assholes would stop electing Republicans, you wouldn't have to complain so much.
They didn't have any leverage.
So, why not keep the government out of business forever and just let the dictator run wild?
The problem is that people elected Republican majorities.
Home Depot was totally in line with Trump even before Trump.
10.11.2025 16:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are a lot to follow on an ongoing basis, but you do a great job with the newsletter. The multiple issues last week followed by a survey this morning was impressive. Thanks.
10.11.2025 15:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Back to work, even for those of us who didn't get any time off.
It's Monday morning.
I already said SNAP is funded through the rest of the fiscal year as part of the deal.
10.11.2025 06:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Republicans would be stupid not to pay federal workers for the time of the shutdown.
I don't expect anything from them except more lies.
You seem to think Trump and the Republicans are all powerful.
They are not.
I'm not appeasing anyone, not the fascists and not you.
I expect the midterms will be a disaster for Republicans if we can avoid the vote suppression, law changing and other tricks that they pull every time.
The federal employees who weren't being paid would differ with you on that one.
Also, the ones who were RIF'd and are now being reinstated are realizing a double benefit.
I don't see the claim of weakness.
There's no reason not to support Dems in every single election that comes up in 2026.
Actually the Agriculture bill, along with SNAP benefits, were approved for funding through the entire fiscal year, so September 30, 2026 is already in the mix for them.
We should not let people forget that Republicans are overtly cruel people who love to inflict pain on the poor and helpless.
So, replace Schumer if you think that's necessary (which it is), but there never, as in never, was going to be huge tax subsidies reducing ACA premiums.
Republicans have been trying to kill the ACA for over a decade. It was only Biden post-pandemic that created the subsidies that have now expired.
Not relevant to tonight, but thanks for playing.
10.11.2025 05:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wasn't accusing you or anyone in particular of voting for Republicans. I was saying you ended up where you started because a whole lot of people voted for Republicans. They have majorities in both houses of Congress, as well as in the White House.
There never was anything Senate Dems could do.
You ended up where we started because of who controls Congress.
People should be very pissed at Republicans, but tonight a lot of folks seem to think Democrats caused whatever isn't going right in their lives and that's just not what happened.
The folks that gave them majorities in the House and in the Senate and in the White House.
Minorities in Congress are easy to ignore, as the Republicans have made very clear this year.
It's a lot more than one, but back to following.
10.11.2025 05:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think they knew that going in, but they wanted to stop the pain the shutdown was causing to real people.
Notice the 8 aren't running for office in 2026. The other 39, most of whom will be running, would have kept the shutdown going for much longer.
The Repubs won't ever vote for an ACA subsidy.
You just ignored the upside of what they did get.
I'm growing more and more tired of the bullshit every day.
No longer following Anthony after this huge piece of bullshit.
It's classic misinformation.
Hey, you ignorant dummy, you are naming people's names when they did not vote for any deal.
What the fuck gives you the right to lie about other people and claim they did things they didn't do?
