Finished up a Brutalis Dread with some wolfy bits from Greytide studios added on. I didn’t realize the shoulder pads were reversed until AFTER I glued them down. I don’t think you can tell unless you’ve seen the original bits.

Spent the last two weeks painting up Gallowdark for a local Kill Team tournament. Used an airbrush for the first time & OSL. Also tried out using enamel weathering paints & paint markers. It’s not the best, but I’m tired of working on it.

Got the old man finished up just in time for a 2000pt Grimdark Future game last night (using the beta 3.5 rules) Wolf Bros. vs. Blood Bros. Lost the game because I was having too much fun fighting and not focusing on objectives.

Took today off and spent the afternoon playing Spearhead with @whirlspell.bsky.social. First couple of turns his Stormcast beat the snot outta my Skaven. Managed to come back last two turns, but still lost by 1. Final:18-17.

Last April I got up the nerve to go to Kill Team / AoS night at my LFGS. I’m awkward AF & was anxious about going. FF to tonight. I walk in & 3 people call out my name & wave/fist bump. Owner stops by to give me shit.
I’m 50 & for the first time in my life I have a 3rd place.

Got a game of One Page Rules Grim Dark Firefight in tonight. Brought out some of the wolves I had painted vs a friend’s Thousand Sons. Game ended in a tie and we had a blast.

Played my first game of Spearhead last week (rats vs Maggotkin) & it was a friggin BLAST! I need to play a few more games, but the rules feel much less fiddily & more streamlined than Kill Team. Looking forward to playing again soon.

I think hating your own work midway through is part of the process.

It’s just a weird part of the process.

I’m at that point of my current painting project where the minis look like crap. I start to doubt painting minis as a hobby. .

Just need to step away for a day & get some perspective.

Always, when I come back I’m like “dude, it’s not that bad… chiiiillll.” I jump back in & they turn out ok.
