When I am in Congress, I will never hesitate to stand up for our youth, and ensure justice for those that would do them harm.

Congratulations to Congresswoman Grijalva on her long-overdue swearing-in today. It will be nice to see the House get back to work and with her vote finally seeing the release of the Epstein files go to the floor for a vote.

With inflation and the cost of living continuing to rise, now health care premiums will skyrocket too. I am very disappointed that Senator Durbin has once again let us down. We need new leadership in Congress that will fight back against Trump, and will only be focused on you.

I am extremely disappointed that some of our Senate Democrats caved and voted with Republicans, giving up the fight for our healthcare. After such a strong performance in last week’s elections, Democrats finally had hope! It made no sense to fold now!

In our community, we’ve seen families torn apart, loved ones disappeared by masked men, and protestors thrown to the ground.

I won’t stop fighting for compassion, dignity, and justice. In Congress, I’ll fight to end ICE’s reign of terror. No one should live in fear.

House Democrats Immediately Reject Rumored Senate Deal To End The Shutdown Senate Democrats will be meeting on Sunday to discuss a potential deal to end the government shutdown that does NOT restore the Obamacare premiums. House Democrats are already saying no.

There is no reason for Senate Democrats to vote yes on this whatsoever.

I'm calling on Senate Democrats to remain strong! This "not a deal" that is being considered for a vote tonight will culminate in detrimental harm. There is no deal without the ACA subsidies included. Illinois Senate Democrats better vote NO!

Republicans need to come to the table and stop playing politics with SNAP benefits, health care, and our ability to travel.

This administration still refuses to compromise. Now in addition to cutting SNAP benefits and causing health care premiums to rise, they are now threatening air travel on the cusp of Thanksgiving.

Thank you to the Cook County Democratic Party for hosting us at their annual reception last week. It was a pleasure meeting with folks, and the energy in the room was fantastic! People are ready to take on this administration, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress.

Our communities standing tall in the face of bigotry and hate is what makes America great. Our country is worth fighting for.

With families hurting, I’m calling on Republicans to come to the table and end the shutdown.

Republicans are refusing to budge – keeping the government closed so they can fund tax cuts for the wealthy and increase health care costs for us. New premiums became available on the exchanges this week. I invite you to share in the comments below how that will affect you.

In Illinois, we made it clear: we will not bend to authoritarianism. Over 7 million people joined the No Kings protests over the weekend, making it one of the largest demonstrations in United States history. Together, we are making a difference and we must keep up the fight!

It is terrifying, and a disgrace to see ICE agents arresting people in Illinois while hiding their identities. As County Commissioner, I sponsored legislation calling on ICE agents to remove their masks in Cook County – and I’ll keep fighting to protect our communities in Congress.
