Hmm, what if you replaced just the right hemisphere with a computer but left the left hemisphere intact? Or vice versa. Given what we know about the apparent dual consciousness in a split brain etc.

Perhaps a dumb question, but what makes a complex system in which consciousness emerges necessarily a biological one? It is simply a question of speed or scale (e.g. number of edges) or are you thinking it is something else?
