AI chatbots upended their lives. Now they're finding support from each other Talking to AI bots can lead to unhealthy emotional attachments or even breaks with reality. Some people affected by chatbot interactions or those of a loved one are turning to one other for support.

With so many treating LLM like chatGPT as fact, this is a great article on how easily some can be manipulated and experience AI delusions. No one is immune to propaganda. Just think what they are trying to do with Grok. www.npr.org/2026/01/20/n...

CEOs Say AI Is Making Work More Efficient. Employees Tell a Different Story. How much time workers say the technology saves them on the job is vastly different from what executives report.

A new survey shows 40%+ of execs say AI saves them 8+ hrs/week while ~2/3 of non-managers say it saves <2 hrs or nothing.

This is the second time I’ve seen this split, and it explains the CEO hype vs rank-and-file worker ambivalence.

LLMs excel at summaries and email drafts, aka exec busywork.

Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

MLK was only 39 when he was killed. Growing up, I thought that was old. But I’m 43 now and I’m stunned by the burden he shouldered at such a young age. I’m also a lot more aware of how hard it is, at any age, to carry the hopes and dreams of an oppressed people on your shoulders, as so many do.

Andor season 1 was a slow burn and I think that’s what I enjoyed about it. The quiet contemplation of how oppression happens while people either ignore it, or dismiss it.

Great book! It was good to learn how much social media misinformation and attacks influenced the elections in the Philippines. It seems like it was testing in preparation for the united states. I was not aware they adopted our constitution and form of government.

I haven't drank alcohol in 10 years. My late father drank Heineken, and now that they have Heineken 0 I can enjoy one in his memory.

You cannot technically explain yourself out of UX issues, please stop trying.

So often I see users bring up UX issues, and programmers then tell them how much work it was to create their product.

It doesn't matter how much work it was!! What matters is if your target audience uses it or not.

Tennessee whistleblower says library board chair sought private data as part of state's book purge A First Amendment expert told The Advocate that there are "huge" legal implications stemming from the situation.

Officials in Tennessee aren't just banning books, they're now demanding information on who checked out contested (largely LGBTQ+) books, including names, addresses, and "household composition."

A librarian who was given the directive has come forward asking for whistleblower protections.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

A new investigation revealed that school districts and local governments are reportedly overpaying for supplies because of Amazon contracts that bind them to dynamic pricing.

Rather than allow for competitive bidding, the deals “covertly raise prices and inflate costs for governments.”

If more people put in the hard work, it truly would be a better world. I wish people spent more time doing the hard work, rather than skimming the surface and using it as a weapon to act out even further.

This reminds me of every business owner that I've worked with refusing to test their product using their "experience" as validation. Calibri was chosen for legibility reasons.

Thank you for your work, it made an impact on me early in my career. I read your books and attended your conferences. I was able to pay it forward. I beat alcoholism, lost a family member and have been obsessed with trying to save our democracy. What matters to people is important right now.

I used to create an annual "best of" for every year's releases, double disk set. One for bands, one for electronic music. Those were the days.
