Semi-retired lawyer -- had the “Western Civilization” education that right wingers want for all, but read the books. Very worried about how our institutions are failing us, one by one.
Go figure out the protest nearest you.
And if you are in CA please also vote YES on 50.
Do it now. You have your ballot.
“I spent three nights and three days in federal custody. During that time, I was never told what I was charged with, was not allowed to shower despite being covered in tear gas and pepper spray, had no phone call to my family, and no access to an attorney.” - George Retes, U.S. citizen and veteran.

Do you know anyone in journalism with experience covering dementia-like symptoms?

Much of what he did before Kirk’s death sounds pretty awesome. Politics aside, I would like him a lot, I think.
Now Mike Arnold should apologize to Danielle Meyers and help her get her job back.

CA voters!
The only accountability Trump and his minions will have in the next 3+ years is if the Dems take back the House.
Prop 50 will help. It is a temporary, conditional measure (offsetting Trump's manipulation in Texas). But it is critical. Please vote YES.

This is critical.
Political organizers in Santa Cruz and Watsonville are planning to bring big local numbers to a nationwide protest against the Trump administration. The second "No Kings" events, following the first in June, are slated for next Saturday.

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News. A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.
Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

They keep leaving out an essential preposition, "at", which completely changes the meaning of the sentence from a self-aggrandizing lie to a banal truth: She stared down AT protesters. Big deal. What next, "Steven Miller looked out of a window"? "RFK Jr examined his fingernails"?
