Agreed except the wait list for the books I want is MONTHS long

Not to be divisive but this doesn’t count as reading to me— someone who is fully capable of reading a book and enjoying it. (Adding that caveat as I know there are people who can only ingest books in an audio format)

They do but I’m impatient and the months long wait lists for the books I want to read is making it a bit hard

this is a poorly articulated thought so let me just clarify I don’t think all media is above critique but I do think there are a lot of examples of tropes that are dated but harmless (ie not racist/ hateful/ homophobic) that people are quick to condemn and it reads as posturing

I think things that have NEVER been acceptable are a different story. Not aging well suggests there was a time it was fully accepted and I think there’s a lot of media that has been problematic from its inception

I think lack of media literacy is a part of the issue because a lotttttt of these movies were consumed by people who think that all narrators are reliable

I think it’s nice to humbled now and then

I think this also applies but I don’t think we need to retro actively cancel a movie for being of its time
