Fuck Target for treating their workers like this. More and more reasons for me not to go back.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If theyβre within four feet, the employee should ask how the customerβs day is going or if they need help."

The lesser evil is still evil. Harm reduction still causes harm. And the legal system will not save us.
She's not the villain. But this legal system IS. Multiple things can be true at the same time.
People want her decision to be morally good because she is morally good.
And it's all because some of us have decided that we can't be genocided again if we're the Oppressors. Well I for one didn't think the takeaway from the Shoah was that being Nazis was super cool and we should get a turn at the hate wheel.

02.11.2025 05:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I mean I agree with you & Jarrett. It's clearly true that at least half of MLB teams can't even approximate the Dodger way. Toronto is actually a great example of my willingness argument because they've been competitive for most of the last decade and a big part of that is trying hard in free agency
02.11.2025 05:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I admire the hell out of teams that win without the kind of resources the big franchises have. Frankly, MLB's antitrust exemption should be rebuilt so that there's tons more revenue sharing and a meaningful salary floor to ensure the money gets spent on making teams better. It's a pipe dream!
02.11.2025 05:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I absolutely think the present day Nats are bad for the sport! They competed because Ted wanted to win, now they don't compete because Mark wants to build real estate near Nats Park and won't spend money on his hobby.

02.11.2025 05:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm bitter as hell that my Nats, owned by real estate ghouls with more money than God, just absolutely gave up on free agency because the farm got thin
02.11.2025 05:12 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Dodgers are proof that billionaires who want their team to win baseball games can a) spend tons of money every year and b) let people who know what they're doing make decisions, leading to c) winning lots of games, even championships. Every owner could try this model if they stopped crying poor!

enjoyed today's bandwagon, and I agree with Hannah's take. My own adjacent one is that the lede mentioned is part of the internet-tinged impulse where it's not enough to have a great performance and appreciate it, but someone else also has to feel bad about it in the process
20.10.2025 16:40 β π 22 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0No level of competitive parity, no level of average payroll, no amount of team revenue would inspire the owners to come off of a "we must reduce labor costs" position. To think that is to ignore 60+ years of baseball labor history. Anyone who says otherwise is either dumb or is carrying water.

So I think it's almost certainly true that most of not all visionaries and prophets have been excommunicated in the last 40 years at least. Hugh Nibley was, to my mind, a prophet, but he wasn't a charismatic leader. More of a tolerated eccentric
