Militarized federal agents raided a Chicago apartment complex and pulled men, women, and children from their homes and into U-haul vans, separating the children from their parents.

Some people were pulled from their bed naked and terrified in the dead of night.

3/3 BUT now that I’ve moved into a building with a good view of the sky, the jet acrobatics are simply awe-inspiring and for those of who have never been to war, it gives a sense of the power of US military intimidation and might. I admit I watch it (and try to avoid traffic for 3 days).

2/? It’s a big recruitment event, and although military members are usually honorable and worthy of our respect, We the people would be better off without a need for such a huge defense establishment. The show totally screws up traffic in my ‘hood, imposes ear-splitting roars and scares the dogs.

I have very mixed feelings about the #ChicagoAirandWaterShow, going on this weekend. First, it’s mostly an unapologetic display of military air power, with either the #ArmyThunderbirds or #NavyBlueAngels performing. 🧵

ICE arrested these immigrants in San Francisco and sent them 2,400 miles away—to Hawaii One may be mentally impaired, said a judge who granted him a continuance prior to his arrest.

ICE doesn't even have a detention center in Hawaii. The men have been put in a federal prison there. Very far from home, and presumably their lawyers. Via @missionlocal.org
