Fountain pen of the day—Monteverde MP1 with an Omniflex nib. This is my newest acquisition. I definitely wouldn’t consider the Omniflex a true flex nib, but it does have a nice bit of bounce for regular writing, which I really like. I would estimate that it puts out a M line width.

A couple more fountain pens—these live at work. Top (red) is a Platinum Prefonte with a really broad M nib, especially for a Japanese pen. Bottom is a Kaweco Student—an underrated pen, IMHO. Interestingly enough, it uses the same nib as the better—known Sport. #fountainpens

The Schaeffer student pen, circa 1950s. My mom used to have one of these that was given to her by her parents. As a kid, it was the very first fountain pen I ever used before it disappeared. Last year, I picked up this one for myself and got another one for my mom to replace her long lost pen.

I’m really into #fountainpens and I will be showing off my collection here. This Jinhao 9016 is one of my more recent acquisitions. I like the extra large converter and it writes surprisingly nicely. This one is designated for my shimmer inks.

The Explorer is another good, less expensive option from Pilot. It’s lightweight, sits well in the hand, and looks a bit classier than the Kakuno.

I’ve used it on the clear Kakuno before without any issues.

If you don’t want to become a collector, I would suggest that you avoid the Pen Swap subReddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Pen_Swap). 😈 😂 Seriously though, enjoy the ride down the rabbit hole! 🖋️😁
