On the Stage 10 Planet Set for "Obsession"--one of my top five favorites.

Imagine my surprise when I noticed that the people on Eminiar VII also serve colourful food cubes as little snacks to the Enterprise landing party in #StarTrekTOS' "A Taste of Armageddon". A clear case of Hodgkin's Law of Parallel Planetary Development! :-)

This is an excellent question. I decided they were just meant to look otherworldly.

#StarTrekTOS' "The Man Trap" is the first episode in which we see the colourful food cubes which appear in many later episodes. Notice how the bowl of cubes ⬆️ (on a small plate) is suddenly a large plate of cubes in the close-up ⬇️. All the blue cubes are also suddenly gone in the close-up... ;-)

Possible evidence that an editor was covering both his a** and Mr. Shatner's during post-production for "That Which Survives". Modesty was not preserved, as the "Wardrobe Malfunction" made it into the final cut. Editor's job security?...unknown.

Star Trek fans in Canada know that Saturday, Sept 6, 2025 marks the 59th anniversary of the Canadian premiere of the original Star Trek, created by Gene Roddenberry.

He played Commodore Stone in Court Martial, he voiced many movie trailers, notably for Jaws, and he was was Canadian. Percy Rodriguez was a lucky man.
