300 down! 200 incoming, so 300 more to go to get up there safely. A bit behind because of power outages limiting work + new meds making me super sick, but I'm on track to meet the bare minimum at least. Mattress and such can come later.

25.11.2024 03:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0There is no emperical evidence that is a general case, that is a twist on purity culture twisting frankly poorly collected data. Sex work, like most high-stakes labor work, has a lot of issues with the exploitation of labor. Doesnt mean that the work and product it's self is the problem.
12.11.2024 04:15 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I will point out that bluesky is not completely non algorithmic.
12.11.2024 04:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0leftism is a huge umbrella of political ideologies, it includes ideologies rooted in extreme utilitarianism and consequentialism ethics.

06.11.2024 02:11 โ ๐ 22 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0And even beyond that, there are a lot of systemic reasons why people are not going to new facts/ideas. Individual agency has a place, but on a 'general public' level and not individual actions, poverty, safety, and generational security, relate to why people reject the idea they can be wrong.
24.10.2024 19:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Very very basically, education is what we learn, where as intelligence is our capacity to learn and implement it. Memorizing what parts of the brain do is an education-based skill, and implementing it to identify a cause of behavior would be a skill that falls under more intelligence for example.
24.10.2024 19:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yup, or disability, or any number of other things that boil down to if more resources, more time would be available, and more capacity to learn, grow, and pass it on.
24.10.2024 03:50 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thats more education than intelligence spesfic, and even then I think most people are willing but have not been given the resources. And not just in terms of direct resources, but energy and time.
24.10.2024 03:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Id add on, that it's not even that it's just taught that way (it is) it's also that the average person does not have the resources to build on skills or learn, or even share what they know without noticeable monetary return.
24.10.2024 03:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0its really not, its just that everyone has there own hurdles, and barriers that affect their broad intelligence, very few people don't have some subject or skill they show intelligence in. Talent and intelligence is far from rare though.
24.10.2024 03:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A screenshot of the Bluesky Altometer site. It started tracking on Oct 23, 2024. In the screenshot it had observed 18,880 images, of which 16,572 were missing alt text. This accounted for 87.8% of images missing alt text.
Introducing the Bluesky Altometer:
altometer.atdev.pro
This is an project #atproto that tracks image posts for alt text. It keeps track of the percentage of posts it has seen (since the last database reset) that are *missing* alt text.
The goal here is to increase the #accessibility of Bluesky.
Am genuinely just trying to figure out where this idea comes from, because it's not unique to you or even this platform, it's become more prevalent iv noticed. It's interesting to me because topics like this relating to sociology, especially digital sociology is interesting as well as useful.
24.10.2024 02:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0its not though, not based on any major public facing data at least.

I don't get where this statement comes from, the off-digital history is a common though skewed idea, but where is your age metric coming from? The only data publically available as far as I am aware has the biggest cohorts switching from 18-24, and 25-34

She is a young woman with pale grey skin, white eyes, and light blonde hair loosely tied into a long braid behind her. She has deep red eye makeup and lipstick, and a red bodysuit with many peek a boos. She leans over a glowing well of blood with a decorative dagger in one hand and blood dripping from the other. Behind her is a dark red cloth covering the wall where a symbol of Bhaal is partially obscured. Thin streams of blood pour from the ceiling around her

There are some networks of care, some communities, that rely on twitter as infrastructure and cannot simply pack up and leave lest they risk losing said community. To call the maintenance of these networks unethical is something of a privileged position.
Sometimes I think my fellow leftists have forgotten there is a difference between being a "centrist" and just disregarding the nuance and complexity of most issues. Being a fence sitter is typically bad, acknowledging few things are black and white, is important though.
