Thought this would be of interest.
Some good news in a crappy situation.
(Pun absolutely intended)

(3) Since as of a recent ruling trans people cannot safely use male or female toilets, access to these keys has been expanded specifically to ensure everyone has safe access to sanitation.
The keys and who can have them are actually about the only thing about this situation that ISN'T horrible.

(2) and as a result people with disabilities, who couldn't use the other public toilets, would be left unable to access them. In order to give them more reliable access, disabled toilets were locked and people with disabilties or their carers can order free keys, or ask staff if it's in a store etc.

This isn't intended, or used, the way you seem to think it is.
The UK has male and female toilets which are open to their respective genders and disabled toilets, which have no gender restriction. This led to people using them because the other toilers had a long queue, or as baby changing rooms (1)

I'd guess so on the first part, I'm afraid I don't know on the second - I'm not claiming any expertise, but the other day I was looking up where parties stood in regards to membership, noticed that little addendum on their number and thought that was incredibly suspicious.

Lastly, because we bleeding heart libs are very against 'sacrificing the vulnerable for the greater good', partial strikes are possible - bankers can still help grandma withdraw money while refusing to process a conglomerates transactions. Deliveries still get to food banks etc

Fuel delivery, Air Traffic Control, Public Transport Operators.
Get those three on strike, the rest of the country is gonna grind to a halt whether it wants to or not.
Data center operators, Bankers and general delivery drivers are also critical pressure points. Countries run on logistics and data.

Important thing I discovered looking up their membership numbers too - Reform CLAIMS about 240,000 members. However, this is just their claim, because they refuse to verify their membership with the body literally every other party uses to verify their membership.

Most welcome, it's kind of a 'brief retrospective' of it but it's a good launching point to get the key details to find out more if you want to. I learned about it in college in a Sociology class where the teacher said "So, fun fact, best recorded example of a society nearly collapsing is...us."

I've been saying for months that his whole attitude about this feels like an ex accusing you of ruining their life because you won't get back together after they left you.
But honestly it's more like "because they left you for someone richer and now you won't agree to be their side piece".

Autumn 2000: when fuel shortages brought UK to virtual standstill Rationing brings echoes of price protests that led to panic buying and filling stations running dry

If anyone wants more details, this was literally fuel tanker drivers demonstrating their ability to single handedly end society by parking their tankers across depot entrances and hiding the keys.

In...I think it was the late 90's/early 2000's, the UK had a massive disruption to it's fuel supply and petrol stations ran out for a FEW DAYS. Those few days are now used as a global case study in the stages of societal collapse and how easily they can be triggered. Estimates said anarchy in a week

Regarding resources, an absolutely MASSIVE portion of that hole could be filled if Democratic states were all on board and announced they would be withholding federal taxes and using them to support a strike. It wouldn't be enough alone, but it sure would be a big swing in the right direction.

I remember about a decade ago when I was still doing "friday nights" I saw a woman pause in the street tuck her kebab into her cleavage, squat down, try to move her knickers, fail, give up and pee through them, before standing, retrieving her kebab and carrying on. I was almost impressed tbh.

Can we please talk about how much the person with a flag painted on their face looks like Jabba the Hutt trying to blend?

If I could just add a general suggestion to this thread: We should all probably tag our political party posts with the country, because I've seen this happen a few times and it's kind of funny but it's also leading to a lot of confusion and pointless anger.

I'm kinda glad to hear this tbh. Nintendo's track record of being one of the most litigious companies on the planet was never something I liked about them, but after they rolled over and did nothing but say they didn't condone ICE using the Pokemon theme in sick propaganda, I wish them every failure

After all these years, & a politics degree, & decades trying to teach it, & about 3 million mistily-grasped texts, Iโ€™ve finally accepted that itโ€™s a 10 word phrase from a superhero movie that most precisely expresses my political beliefs:

โ€œI donโ€™t like bullies. I donโ€™t care where theyโ€™re from.โ€

I actually saw a Starmer stan posting on here that the amount of the vote Green are 'stealing' is concerning because it will ruin their 'tactical voting' for Labour. Though about three posts before that they'd also claimed Labour was "the only party tackling the climate crisis" so...you know...

While we're talking about teeth, iirc Stephen Yaxley-Lennon/Tommy Robinson had his new set paid for by an American right wing "think tank".
You know, the guy who needs nothing from any foreigner.

I'm 33. My entire life, mainstream politics has been "Meet in the middle" and has stayed that way even as we began to scream "The 'middle' seems to be moving increasingly towards overt fascism". And then even that 'middle' wasn't enough for them.
I love the increasing global sentiment of "Fuck this"

I honestly find it really sad that she not only expects people to abuse her at the slightest provocation, but thinks it's a sign of weakness if they don't. To me, that suggests that every role model she's ever had has been willing to verbally or physically abuse her the second the 'provokes them'.

Not to be all superior about it, but IF people can A) Travel to somewhere that has them and B) Afford them elsewhere, it'd be much better to buy them from a store than Amazon, who are very much part of the problem.
Appreciate not everyone has options, but just a thought for those that do.

Elon Musk is 59 years old. The average lifespan of a white male in the US is around 78 years.
His healthcare access doubtless increases that, but his rampant drug abuse and terrible fitness doubtless reduces it so we'll assume the average is about right.
Elon only has about 25% of his lifespan left.

If you hadn't seen, the newly identified species known as "Antifa Frog" has spread to Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe and gathered outside their US Embassies today.
It was amazing to see the turnout in the US. If those numbers had to translate to a general strike it'd be over in a week or less.

Why does one person even need two jets? Is one for her face when it slides off?

It's not a surprise - the right wing 'think tanks' in the US are spending big money on trying to control the narrative in the UK.
Though to this day I'm still reeling from the irony of Elon Musk telling the UK that 'foreign criminals' want to destroy us.

Sometimes, I honestly look at people and all I can think is "...*You* were the fastest sperm. Of all the possible people that could've been created, *you* are supposedly the *best* version available from those ingredients." and I just marvel.
Used to be quite rare. Almost daily now.

Occasionally, I like to imagine what my life would be like if no matter how badly I failed at anything, up to and including bankrupting myself and getting caught breaking the law, I ended up richer. It really puts into perspective that they literally live in a different reality.

Why does every pokemon game have at least 1 NPC who talks like they're on multiple lists?
That's a choice. And it's one they keep making.
