Sitting in a corner of an operating theatre between cases planning the next talk for the next conference. The teaching work that I do is unpaid. In Australia, surgical academic pursuits are still very much done after hours outside paid clinical time. Which begs the question, why am I doing this?

Need advice. If someone outside Australia is commenting on Australian Indigenous material (art, music, etc), is it appropriate for them to perform an acknowledgement of country at the start of their video, blog etc?
