A shaky sketch of two characters locking arms like they’re protagonists (or the villains???) in a cartoon promo image. This is Aaron and Rhenna, the “interpreter” partners of my testing ground story, Momentum, that exists in a quantum state where the story plays out in about a hundred different ways! Because, if my comic Precocious continued, it would be a video game with a cartoon adaptation of one version of its story. (The draw of the video game is you can use amiibo-like figures of the Momentites to change how the story plays out, so I can write a scene for whatever scenario I want when I wish to practice plotting!) Aaron is flashy nerd linguist, with a flashy deep blue vest with gold embroidery, and a “tactically-casual loose ponytail. In this version, he’s an anthro Russian blue cat. Rhenna is an anthro red fox, but in grayscale. (This story element worked a lot better in the human version of Momentum, but I got lucky a gal whose surname is “Cherrycoat” due to her family’s notable red hair through countless generations, but hers came out silvered because that’s a sign one has magic in this world, has a fairly obvious anthro parallel! Aaron is also a gray-furred thing, and a mage himself, but his coloring actually came as a dark-skin adaptation, from a mother who’d be of Fantasy Iranian heritage in a human version of the story, so he’s not slivered.) Rhenna’s outfit is a cowl neck dress with a sash around the waist. Her thick wavy hair is clipped back, and flares out below the clip spot. She’s flashing some of her “status magic” - aka: stunning your ass with magical shock! Everyone’s anatomy is slightly out of proportion, and I ask you overlook it and imagine them as they’re supposed to look.

I panicked and stopped before doing blue pencil “shading.” Do I go back or trace and try again?

And do you realize how hard a two-figure sketch is for me? I haven’t had the energy to warm up in years! Any sketch shared is from me going in raw!

Even with editing to tweak skew/proportion, I dunno…🥺🤫

My self-esteem keeps taking blows, but I’m so unproductive I don’t really get to choose what to share. If I finish a sketch, I should probably post it as proof I’m still alive and trying! This sketch is a blue pencil attempt at my character Rhenna, from an experimental ground of my storytelling called #Momentum. Rhenna is a grayscale anthro red fox in the Precociousverse incarnation of the story and wears a cowl-neck dress with a bow tied at the waist. I really should have leaned further into the “It wimdy” meme if I was gonna draw Rhenna in a breeze. Maybe that’s why she got tilted so much on the page???? Also, with all of these, I’m taking the photos with gravely uneven light from a desk lap, which forces me to contort the sketchbook in all manners of ways, and what you see in these photos is my trying to un-distort the drawing both from my terrible left-handed skew and from the paper angle being wrong!

1) Have I not already established I have a mental block with drawing her, so I always mess up my attempts???

2) Ok, fine. I was merely using up the last spot on the page, and didn’t think I’d actually accept my issues enough to “finish” the thing. 😓

A colored pencil drawing of my character Aaron from my in-my-head scrap paper practice story, #Momentum. He is an anthro dark gray shorthair cat - a Russian blue??? - in this version of the story. Aaron wears reading glasses, and his signature style is a fancy deep blue vest with gold embroidery worn over otherwise plain clothing. His long dark straight hair is tied back in a ponytail, with a bit of hair left free to flop over his face on his right side, as a tactical move to make him feel more approachable.

Half of a sketchbook page where I had rapidly jotted down many design notes for Aaron. These need to be reviewed and consolidated before a proper ref sheet can be made. A lot of this page is about how Aaron has many alternate version of his signature “indigo mage” vest. If anything, it’s just so artists feel freedom to draw him in their way, and don’t feel pressure to draw Aaron incorrectly just because *I* had no idea what I was doing in drawing him. How do vests actually work? I don’t actually know!!!

A sketchbook scene of Aaron sharing a tent with Nate, and him watching her sleep while he worries about potential flirty issues with this “coworker.” These two are dense idiots who don’t know how to relationship, so you’d get to watch them be oblivious and messy for a long time… if Momentum were a real story. It hurts my soul to think that I felt so useless when I did loose sketches of these scenes, but now the thought of sketching out an actual scene feels completely impossible! Doing something like this would take my best health day now! Ugh. American healthcare failed me completely. I could have been fixed at any time the first decade of my condition, and now that I’m broken beyond a threshold - still fixable, but it’ll take months of dedicated effort - docs love claiming, “See, you really are hopeless! I was correct to never help you! A weirdo artist like you was never worth the investment!”

Haha… whoops. This Nate is presented along with drawings of her main accessories, with a few handwritten bio notes. (She’s a professor of herbal medicine, and goes by “Nate” because her real name is insanely long!) I have a ref notes sketchbook page for Nate in the same style as the Aaron one shared… but idiot me somehow didn’t save it properly and put it in my Momentum iPhone folder, meaning it’s lost for now!

If I ever DO complete my ref sheets/notes, I’d surely earn the most-deserved “draw my character in your style” challenge ever.

But lost time also meant losing 99% of followers! *Maybe* 2 people who do “draw my character” stuff know of me!

A scene from my scratch paper practice story, #Momentum, featuring my character Phoebe. In this “Momentum is a Precociousverse cartoon” version, Phoebe is an anthro cheetah. This scene is of her claiming the amnesia stone for the quest - at a rich official’s party, where she had to put everyone to sleep and wipe their memory that she was here and took the stone!

This sketch is slightly less-old than the other three, but still years-old at this point. It’s of Meret, who’s a Siamese cat in the Precociousverse cartoon version of #Momentum, and she’s showing off the gravity stone she gets early on in the quest. Technically, before the quest starts!

An old sketch of my character Nate, who’s an anthro longhaired tabby in this version of Momentim, showing off the constructs she can make with her light stone. I recently made an updated sketch of this moment, but ran out of characters in the post to say “MOSTLY old art” so I used the old one!

I can’t fathom that it’s been around 7.5 years since I said, “If I must lose my comic due to failing health, I’ll focus on Momentun ref sheets while I recover to keep sharp & learn new skills!”

Welp! I only got less healthy since then, as docs avoided OBVIOUS FIXES, so…total failure! (Old sketches)

I’m glad PT was pushed to noon today, but I still can’t leave bed for some reason. (Guess how mad cats are! Especially the porch cat!) I have about 50mins to become human and get on the road.

And I gotta VOTE after?! (I’ll probably crash after PT and vote in the afternoon, knowing me.)

To this day I have dreams of being in that house - which was sold 15 years ago cuz everyone died - discovering a new door in the stairs connecting the units which reveals an additional level of rooms, stocked with cool stuff (often including my OTHER grandparents' house), I'd previously overlooked!

My grandparents bought adjacent lots on a corner when Falls Church, VA was growing, and built two houses on top of each other as a home + granddad's dentist office - but the lots being on a hill meant the houses were offset. I loved it.

My memories mean *this* absurd thing's actually my dream home!

It is very clear the gutting of Teen Vogue is about silencing their excellent political coverage. Corporations want you uninformed and shut off from meaningful journalism. And they’re staggeringly successful at it so far.

VA Dem *campaigners* expect to win by default, and have been burnt by complacency before. I fret cuz I care!

GOP: He called Republicans "EVIL" and said we need to be punished for our crimes! We'd NEVER use such nasty words!

Dude was dumb to vent like that, even if deeply frustrated witnessing GOP cruelty, but the coverage is all bad faith.

Only in the last few days have VA Dems finally noticed there's a quote from the GOP governor candidate, oh, WISHING DEATH ON HER OPPONENTS.

And Dems STILL whiffed on the parallels!

The media, of course, could point out this as well...but it's standard cowardice. The GOP says monstrous things in the open. Can't be a scandal if they're so proud of it!

With my proposal of expanding minor leagues by pruning the south divisions of one/both conferences, we go back to 12-team playoffs! 10, if we cut to 24 teams total!

And, if we can use the minor league for relegation to demote Jax/Vegas/NYJ/Tenn (and promote the DC Defenders)? More than overdue!
