It's day 13 of #COP30 and it may be the last day, for real this time.

Several "L docs" have dropped--ie text in decision format--but we're still waiting on the big one (the "mutirao text").

Might be that #COP30 Presidency didn’t ‘want to come forward with that yesterday on World Children’s Day! (hear the General Secretary below)

For the 30th time in a row they seem to disregard the #UN-CRC, ratified before the #UNFCCC, and all current and future #children of the world! 🥺

It's day 12 of #COP30 and finally we have movement on the text.

In summary, it looks like the small minority of opponents of transitioning away from fossil fuels have been allowed to run roughshod over this text.

But let's dive in...

Imho widerspricht das den eigentlichen Werten dieser Parteien.

Bewahrung der Schöpfung für zukünftige Generationen? Oder für die #ÖVP sogar §1 BVG Nachhaltigkeit …. anyone?

Besonders am heutigen #Kinderrechtetag war das letzte Woche im #EU Parlament für Kinder und zukünftige Generationen, neben der wirtschaftlichen Kurzsichtigkeit, eigentlich ein Mittelfingerzeig.

Es ist bedrückend, dass die #EVP hier nur mehr auf die nächsten paar Jahre zu schauen scheint. Und ..

Derzeit tagt in #Belém die #Weltklimakonferenz. Mit Blick darauf fordern Jugendliche aus aller Welt in einer Petition, dass die Stimme der jungen Generation gehört werden muss und #Kinderrechte auf der #COP30 ins Zentrum rücken.

Heute ist der Internationale Tag der Kinderrechte!
Österreich hat seit 2011 sogar ein vorbildliches Bundesverfassungsgesetz über die Rechte von Kindern. Nur bei dessen Anwendung gibt es in der Praxis Defizite, die vorrangige Beachtung des Kindeswohls (Art 1) wird nicht ausreichend umgesetzt. 🆘 ⚖️

… und die daraus folgenden Szenarien aufs Tapet bringt.

Die aktuellen Investitionsvorhaben und dotierte Budgets haben Konsequenzen. Eben nicht nur, aber eben wesentlich in Hinblick Klimaziele und ob wir dann noch innerhalb unserer Adaptionskapazität bleiben können (bzw. wie lange)

Debattieren wir!

Das wäre die Basis für ein gutes Zusammenleben, weil wir dann die Soziale, die Ökologische und die Governance Seite im Griff hätten. Weil sie auch für noch nicht geborene Kinder gelten.
Wenn wir das wirklich wollen, können wir die Zukunft verbessern.
