this is important context: destroying SNAP has been on the GOP wishlist for a longtime. (The same with the ACA). Tax cuts for trillionaire Elon Musk? No problem. Food for hungry people? Nah.

It’s not just if you go bankrupt with a cancer diagnosis (or most anything) but that you will suffer more & die sooner. And, worse, you will see your loved ones suffer & it will tear you apart & leave you with a lifetime of guilt and/or anger that it didn’t have to be like that.

Most of my male ancestors 250 years ago fought in the Revolution. One wrote, after his father and brother were murdered by Tories, “The fire burns in my breast for the sight of the Liberty Tree.” No Kings then. No Kings now.

I can’t imagine him lying still that long. It’s loud & can be claustrophobic.
