WHAT WAS USEFUL ABOUT THIS, ANNE???
I WAS HAVING A GOOD DAY. I'D FINISHED MY BINGE OF OG G.I. JOE, I'D WATCHED THE TWO MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES THAT REBOOTED THE FRANCHISE AND I'D STARTED THE SIGMA 6 SHOW THAT WAS A SEQUEL TO THE MOVIES.
And then you get my hopes up, only to dash them...

(I just finished binging the original G.I. Joe series (both Sunbow & Dic) along with the made-for-tv movies (Spy Troops & Valor vs Venom) which lead into the Sigma 6 cartoon from 4Kids.😮‍💨😮‍💨)
I'm 2 episodes into Sigma 6 and there's just…SO MANY YU-GI-OH VOICES IN HERE.

They massacred Flint's design SO hard in the Dic series.🤣💔
At least Duke still looked somewhat like a soldier and not just a toy.😂

Tried to read this series. Didn't like it as much as Transformers.
Then I realised that was because I'd watched Transformers '84 & knew all the characters when they popped up.
....
So I did the same with G.I. Joe. Just finished all 4 of the original seasons.
I get it now.😆

I mean....yeah, that's the USUAL version of Body Swap, when it's part of the Slice-Of-Life genre, but I'm assuming this one isn't meant to adhere to that...?🤣🤣

+familiar voices on unfamiliar designs.
But I don't regret it because already, I understand the Skybound comics WAY better and can appreciate what they're doing far more.
(But seriously, if you any indication of the design downgrade, just look at Sunbow Flint vs Doc Flint (on the right)😭).

+some major-league casting for the time…then 2 seasons under Dic Productions where EVERYTHING goes downhill.😭
I'm talking the animation, plot, pacing, even the character designs are MASSIVELY changed - & since G.I. switched out a lot of VAs in the switch, it's not even like you can cling to+

+group against a terrorist organisation but the characters on both sides look more & more like action figures with each passing season.
And it's interesting how both G.I. & TF have 2 seasons under Sunbow Productions (& s2 introduces maybe 10-15 news characters outta nowhere🤣), then a movie with+

Reason? The Skybound comics weren't hitting me as hard as the Transformers one was (I've watched OG Transformers), so I decided to get the lore firsthand.🤣
It's interesting how the show starts out feeling somewhat like a "realistic" military+

And what blows up (fan) ships the most?

CANON.

Was reading the Skybound comics but I felt I was missing the significance of character introductions because I hadn't watched the Sunbow cartoon like I had for Transformers.
So....I went back to binge the Sunbow and Dic cartoons for Joe.🤣

Part II was always my favourite because I'm a sucker for the constant hops through time and the more fantastical nature of the sequel, with all the imagined, alternate timelines.
