It doesn't have to be a union. It can be a local mutual aid org. It can be a book club. It can be a political party, hell a DSA caucus if you're American. Of, course, pay attention to your safety, but there are many ways to learn how to function as a group besides a union.

Those things aren't done alone. Look for an org in your area.
